Halloween Music (a repost from my website)

With Halloween being less than two weeks away, I’ve started to get in the spirit by compiling a list of songs.  When I think of Halloween music, it’s not neccesarily directly related to the holiday.  For example, Oingo Boingo - Dead Man's Party, Patsy Cline – Walkin’ After Midnight or the entire soundtrack of The Virgin Suicides are exellent songs for the season.

Although I will probably be going to The Bang! the Saturday before Halloween (BTW if anyone is interested in going, let me know), I still would like to make the ultimate collection.  Who knows, maybe I’ll find a place to share it.

What songs do you enjoy to hear in spirit of Halloween?  Leave a comment letting me know.

I don't know about Halloween, but I always listen to "Alice's Restaurant" by Arlo Guthrie on Thanksgiving...DET always plays it then and it always makes me feel turkey-like.

His complimentary WDET chip clip should arrive soon.

the monster dance?

I never had Halloween music, but last weekend at Cedar Point I heard them play a bunch of Halloween music, and the very last song I heard is a song I already loved before that, but now it's totally fitting:

Shivaree's "Goodnight Moon"

SO PRETTY!

When were you at Cedar Point? I just went this past Saturday. I was really digging the music they were playing. Thats where I got the idea of Patsy Cline's After Midnight. It was stuck in my head the rest of the night.

nu-uh, not on Fridays. :)

Saturday turned out to be their busiest day ever. It sucked so bad waiting for everything. :*(

I know! I was with a friend who used to work there. They told us they had about 40,000. We got in line for the Milennium Force at 11:30 PM and got off at 12:50. You'd think it'd be less crowded 30 minutes until close.

two of our friends got into the line for MF at around 10 and stood there for 2 and a half hours. We left after about 5 minutes, thinking that we could go on, like, 4 rides instead.

We were right. We went on the Power Tower, Corkscrew, and that new thing...wtf is that called. Like, that giant carnival ride. AND we got food and watched some kids hit that thing with a mallot to see how high it can go (to discover that it's totally and completely rigged).

Good times.

Anyway, someone I know went on Sunday and said that every ride had about a 15-minute wait and there were barely any people. IMAGINE THAT. :(
